As an active volunteer for the Lily Dale Library
since 2005, I have worked with many
wonderful volunteers in our community to update and improve our
beautiful and historic Marion H. Skidmore Library.

The Skidmore collection is housed in Lily Dale's
Memorial Building, constructed in 1923 by the Lily Dale Library
Association Inc. The collection contains many rare and out-of-print
books written about Spiritualism and other metaphysical topics. Our
biggest annual fundraiser for the past 3 years has been the Victorian
Séance held during Lily Dale's Summer Season Program. As you can see by
the picture, many wonderful mediums generously give of their time and
energy to support this colorful event.

Victorian Times -
Spirit Circles
Saturday, July 10, 2010, in our historic Lily Dale Auditorium
During the early days of Modern Spiritualism, the development and
demonstration of Mediumship often occurred in a family home circle.
Since that time, tradition holds that mental mediumship takes place in a
home circle, while physical demonstrations of mediumship occur in a
séance circle. Both types of circles will take place at this popular
event being held for the fourth year in our historic 1883 Auditorium.
Your spirit-guided intuition will direct you to the circle which is
perfect for you, and your personal experience will be guided by a
recognized Medium.
We will begin by raising our vibrations with the enchanted singing of
the Hutchinson Family Revival who will recreate the music and songs of
the Victorian Age. As we raise the energy through prayer and song, we
will invite the spirit of joy and upliftment into our midst to touch
each individual participant. The Mediums will be dressed in Victorian
costumes - if you feel inspired to do so, we invite you to dress in
Victorian period costume as well, and help us to recreate the atmosphere
of that great historic period.
Following the demonstrations of mediumship in Spirit Circles, and as you
share your experiences with your family and friends, the evening will
finish with the serving of elegant Victorian deserts and refreshments,
accompanied by the melodious sounds of the classical guitar played by
internationally known classical guitarist David Allen Coester.
Seating is limited, and this event will fill quickly - pre-registration
is a must!. Door prizes of Lily Dale mementos will be awarded. Please
join us for a night to remember. All proceeds from this event will
go to
support the preservation of the Marion H. Skidmore Library, and its
unique and important collection on the religion, science and philosophy
of Modern Spiritualism.
